Proceeding from the Golf War- project, the Sintermeertencollege was invited to take part in the Academic Olympiad. The Olympiad is an international contest for schools, organised by the Utah State University.

A group of ten students of the Sintermeertencollege visited the Academic Olympiad. Martijn Zieverink even won a music-summer course at the university.
